Their new menu is set to revolutionise the street food scene in Derby, bringing people together with the love of food Located in the historic Old Blacksmiths Yard on Sadler gate, The Palfrey is a newly refurbished unique and contemporary restaurant and wine bar, where they aim to provide a relaxed and friendly environment for their customers. As an independent establishment, passion is at the heart of everything they do. They offer an eclectic mix of food and drink, including a bespoke wine list, signature cocktails and specially created dishes using only the best local ingredients. Split over two levels, the rustic and industrial bar can be found downstairs with adjacent courtyard for casual dining and drinks, whilst upstairs the inviting restaurant is full of intimate charm and contains the kitchen with an open pass to showcase the delicious food. Danny is talented and passionate chef with a broad knowledge of food and cooking styles and works to a simple ethos that allows ‘the food to do the talking’. His love of cooking developed as a teenager as home cooking and growing produce has always been in the family but Danny is the first to become a professional chef.

With a varied career spanning 14 years to date predominantly across the East Midlands, he is proud to have had three roles as Head Chef, including
a stint in Jersey, but now he’s back in his beloved Derbyshire, flying the flag for its produce, and creating mouth watering dishes as Head Chef at The Palfrey.
