Shottle Farm Brewery & The Bull Shed are located on a 60 acre working farm in Shottle, a couple of miles north west of the historic industrial town of Belper at the very foot of the pennines.

As well as making our their cheese and beer, they farm dairy and meat goats, have a small beef herd of Aberdeen Angus X Shorthorn and a couple of pigs.  They also have a herd of black cats which we inherited on taking over the Farm for mousing.

The Farm was developed over the years and now has a massive shed more suitable to modern farming, where the animals are housed, which made the old stone buildings a little bit redundant for farming.  Now with a new lease of life, The Brewery is located in one of the oldest parts of the barn which was last used as a milking parlour and the old bull shed is not host to the pub: The Bull Shed.

Today The Bull Shed retains much of its original features with exposed stone walls, its sloping concrete floor and massive steel beams holding up the grain floor, the beams are believed to have come from the old Belper West Mill.

They built an open fire which all adds to the character and the relaxing, country feel of The Bull Shed.  It can still get nippy in The Bull Shed so they advise customers to wear layers when visiting, especially in the winter.

At The Bull Shed they provide freshly cooked farmhouse food from their own livestock on the farm. Alternatively it is sometimes sourced from the local award winning farm shop, A Pigs Tale. They have a variety of food such as homemade pizzas, burgers, pies and steaks. Reservations only.

The Shottle Farm Brewery was launched in 2011. They have a wide range of ales to enjoy such as Shottle Gold, Shottle Pale Ale, The Fuddled Farmer and more!
