Nottingham Street Art Festival 2017
When: 24th June- 15th July
Launching with a Party on Friday the 23rd of June
The hotly anticipated return of the Street Art Festival is fast approaching. This year at the Surface Gallery, you’ll be sure to see the extremely popular event that brings in people by the shedloads to marvel at Nottingham’s most vibrant alternative art scene, showcasing local talent of the highest quality.
As those of you who have visited are probably aware, Nottingham has some of the best street artists around, so whether it’s graffiti, chalk artists, street painters or cartoonists, Nottingham has got it good!
This year is set to be bigger and better however, as the Festival (for the first time) is excepting submissions from artists the world over. As such you’ll be sure to see some the most unique pieces from young, upcoming artists, as well as established talents, working in a multitude of disciplines and techniques. By including these global artists, the Festival is set to be the most inclusive and mesmerizing event to date.
The launch party will be electric, high energy and captivating, featuring live DJ sets, breakdancing and live painting in the alley from Pete the Painter, Irek, SEGA, Mr Werd NYC, and TFD Crew. You’ll also be able to enjoy some nicely spiced cooking from Uncle Wayne’s Jerk Station. As always, there will be a donations bar with ales from the funkiest brewery in Nottingham: Springhead.
On the night prizes will be awarded by a panel of judges that includes: Snik, internationally acclaimed street artist, Saziso Phiri of The Anti Gallery, and Rob Rennie of Hung Up, Nottingham’s only dedicated street art gallery.
As always this festival offers you a fantastic opportunity to get top notch art at an affordable price, while supporting ambitious local and global artists.
