Situated behind St Peter’s Church in the heart of Derby, Ryan’s Bar which was formerly two separate pubs, is an Irish live music venue offering good food, good music and good times.

They host many open mic nights and jam nights and are open to all genres and walks of life. Their ever growing Jam Night offers all acts who perform 3 FREE drinks and is often jam-packed (aha!) with undiscovered talent. Ryan’s Bar is also host to Distort, a monthly grime event which is free to all featuring some of Derby’s hottest MC’s taking place on the first Friday of every month!

A Fun fact about Ryan’s Bar is that it was the place where 21st century hit singer James Morrison was discovered when he was working in Derby and performing at open mic nights on Wednesdays and Sundays back in 2006.

Ryan’s bar isn’t only known for it’s music nights. It offers a vast variety of drinks to cater for everybody and its relatively small size makes for a cosy environment particularly on Friday nights when it is busy.

Ryan’s Bar are proud supporters of Derby Pride with collection tins on the bar and they also open early on Pride day for hospitality prior to the parade offering their services to anyone taking part.
