WHAT’S ON Download Festival

The Download Festival is a British rock festival based at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England. The event has been going since 2003 and it is the most popular summer rock and heavy metal around. It has also hosted some of the genre’s biggest names such as ZZ Top, Metallica, Kiss, and Def Leppard to name a few.

With the 2017 edition of Download Festival approaching, it brings a whole new line-up in terms of the biggest metal and rock acts including System of a Down, Biffy Clyro, Steel Panther and The Dillinger Escape Plan. More than 45 extra acts were announced on February 1st. The event will approximately take place from June 9th-11th. Tickets are on sale via the festival’s website. This year is hoping not to be an exception in regards to weather and form as last year’s event was hit by serious flooding. In response to the news, the festival was nicknamed ‘Drownload’ but many are wishful that this would not be the case the second time around.

As it appears on the Download Festival website, a valid ID in needed throughout the whole event. There is a Challenge 21 policy on site and what is accepted may include the following – a passport, an EU driving license or even a proof of age card bearing a PASS hologram.

Another section includes their very own merchandise. Whether you are buying an official Download 2017 t-shirt or a Dog Plushie, their online store are selling everything they have left as the items are limited.
