The Derbyshire Agricultural and Horticultural Society came into being amidst a wealth of goodwill at a meeting held at the King’s Head Hotel, Derby, then a well-known posting-house in the Cornmarket, on Friday 29th June 1860.

Big Pete’s Monster Trucks return to Derbyshire County show this year! They perform to half a million people a year, crushing over a 1000 cars – not to mention all the caravans and buses that are also crushed.
The countryside area will display some of the skills used in the countryside – Dry Stone Walling and Hedge laying together with many other interesting attractions including a display of falconry birds; fly tying and casting; stickmakers; Derbyshire Angling Club; Rare Breeds; The Woolley Roadshow and the NFU Discovery Barn.
